NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – Dartmouth was swept by No. 2 Oklahoma and CSUN on day one of the CSUN/Loyola Marymount Tournament. The Big Green fall to 2-10, while Oklahoma improves to 23-2 and CSUN is now 12-12.

Vs. No. 2 Oklahoma
Despite falling to the Sooners, 10-0, starting pitcher
Madie Augusto and the defense kept the Big Green in it in the first half of the game, keeping things scoreless. Oklahoma lit up the scoreboard in the second half, showing off its offensive capabilities.
Billie McFadyen and
McKenna Gray each collected hits for Dartmouth.

Oklahoma, who has the fourth best team ERA in the nation, used three pitchers to combine for a two-hit shutout. Mariah Lopez started and struck out six batters over the first 4.2 innings where she only allowed one hit. Nicole Mendez threw the next 1.1 innings, gave up a hit and struck out two and Parker Conrad went the final inning and maintained the shutout.

Grace Green led off the fourth inning for the Sooners with a solo home run to put Oklahoma ahead 1-0. Augusto stayed composed and did not allow another run in the inning as she worked three ground outs, two to shortstop and one to second base to end the half inning.

Dartmouth had its best opportunity in the home half of the fourth when
Calista Almer drew a leadoff walk and McFadyen singled to center, moving Almer to second base with nobody out. The threat quickly ended as the Big Green grounded into a double play and finished the inning with a fly out.

Four runs came across for Oklahoma in the fifth. Sydney Romero belted another Sooner home run to start things off and Oklahoma did not slow down. They carried the momentum of the homer and racked off an RBI double and a two RBI single to extend their lead to 5-0.

Oklahoma hit a two-run shot in the sixth and scored three more runs in the seventh to take the victory. Â Â

Vs. CSUN
The Big Green fell 11-2 in five innings to the co-tournament hosts CSUN in game two. Both of the Dartmouth's runs came in the third inning.

CSUN put the game away with by scoring seven runs in the second inning. With one out and the bases loaded, Jaymi Steward launched a grand slam to right center. The Matadors kept the line moving by hitting three straight singles, the third brought in the fifth run. CSUN loaded the bases again and a couple of walked batters brought in the sixth and seventh runs of the inning.

Schae Nelson and
Calista Almer each got on base to lead off the third and
Billie McFadyen laid down a sacrifice bunt to move both runners into scoring position.
Micah Schroder brought in Nelson with an RBI groundout and Almer scored when
Morgan Martinelli put the ball in play and caused a CSUN error to cut the deficit to 7-2 after the top of the third.

The Matadors responded right away with three runs of their own in the bottom of the third. Steward started the inning with a triple and scored on a wild pitch, later in the inning, an RBI double scored a run followed by an RBI single.

Steward got the job done again for CSUN in the fourth. She drove in the 11th run for the home team with a base hit to right field.

Almer reached base in the top of the fifth, but Dartmouth could not make up the ground they needed.

The Big Green are back in action on Saturday for the second day of the CSUN/LMU Tournament when they take on Cal Poly at 3:15 p.m. ET and Cal Baptist at 5:30 p.m. ET in Northridge, Calif.
