CALIFORNIA DREAMING
The third weekend of the season takes the Big Green to California for the CSUN/Loyola Marymount Tournament. Dartmouth starts its trip with No. 2 ranked Oklahoma. The Big Green then take on CSUN, Cal Poly and Cal Baptist before wrapping up the tournament at Loyola Marymount.

UCF INVITE IN REVIEW
- The Big Green played four challenging teams and came out without a win in Orlando two weekends ago.
- Dartmouth improved as the weekend went on. The Big Green were run ruled in both games on Friday against Louisiana Tech, who is receiving votes, and UCF.
- In a single game against Toledo on Saturday, Dartmouth led 3-2 going into the seventh inning, the Rockets scored three times in the final inning to steal the victory. Tessa Grossman went 3-4 with a double and an RBI single. Calista Almer, Schae Nelson and Taylor Ward also drove in runs, while Billie McFadyen had two hits and Morgan Martinelli went 1-3 at the plate.
- On Sunday, the Big Green suffered another one-run loss to Toledo, falling 4-3. Dartmouth tied the game at three in the fourth inning thanks to a three RBI triple by Sophie Ausmus. The Rockets scored the winning run in the bottom of the sixth.
- The final game of the UCF Invite was a positive. Dartmouth took a 4-0 advantage after the first inning against Florida State, putting the Seminoles behind for the first time this season. McFadyen had an RBI single and Ward launched a three-run home run to give the Big Green their lead. Florida State made its comeback and eventually defeated Dartmouth, 8-4.
SCOUTING No. 2 OKLAHOMA
- The Sooners were the preseason No. 4 and have moved up to No. 2 in the country after a 20-2 start.
- The only two losses for Oklahoma are to No. 1 Florida State (7-4) and No. 2 UCLA (7-1).
- The Sooners have seven ranked wins this season. They are over No. 18 Kentucky (9-1 – 6 inn.), No. 24 Notre Dame (6-2), No. 14 Arizona (2-1), No. 25 Oregon State (3-0), No. 11 Louisiana (9-1 – 5 inn.) and twice over No. 25 Northwestern (7-0 and 8-0).
- Oklahoma is hitting .348 as a team (ninth in the nation), averages 1.68 home runs per game (leads nation) and have nine players hitting .300 or better.
- Sydney Romero leads the Sooners with a .423 batting average and has hit seven home runs, four doubles and has driven in 20 runs, she has only struck out three times in 71 at bats.
- Shay Knighten is batting .396 with four home runs and 16 RBI.
- The Sooners also have a top 10 team ERA at 1.28.
- Mariah Lopez has an 8-1 record with a 0.76 ERA and 70 strikeouts 46.0 innings. This includes three complete game shutouts and an opponent batting average of .121.Â
- Shannon Saile (1.35 ERA / 58 K's / 31.1 IP) and Giselle Juarez (1.77 ERA / 72 K's / 51.1 IP) could also see time in the circle against the Big Green.
SCOUTING CSUN
- CSUN is a member of the Big West conference and enter Friday's meeting against the Big Green with an 11-12 record.
- The Matadors are on a four-game winning streak with wins over Nevada (3-1), Weber State (7-1), San Jose State (12-1) and Santa Clara (6-3 – 8 inn.)Â
- CSUN is hitting .246 as a team and is led by Megan Stevens who is hitting .485 with six home runs, 25 RBI, 12 doubles, one triple and 18 runs scored.
- Mackenzie Babbitt is second on the team with a .303 batting average. She leads the Matadors with four stolen bases.
- Jessica Alexander is hitting .278 with two home runs and 16 RBI, while Kiarra Crockett-Pope has three home runs and 10 RBI.
- In the circle, CSUN has a 4.42 team ERA and opponents are hitting .263 against Matador pitching.
- In 18 appearances and 14 starts, Jillian James leads the way with a 2.86 ERA and has a 6-5 record with 115 strikeouts in 85.0 innings.
- Kenedee Jamerson has a 4-2 record with a 4.09 ERA and 26 K's in 33.0 innings in 13 appearances and five starts.
SCOUTING CAL POLY
- Cal Poly enters the tournament with a 4-18 record with wins over Portland State (7-3), San Diego (7-3), Colorado State (2-1) and Utah State (8-6).
- The Mustangs have dropped 10 out of their last 11 games.
- Cal Poly is hitting .292 as a team and are led by Makenna Young who is hitting .318 with three home runs, three doubles and 14 RBI.
- Hailey Martin is also batting over .300. She holds a .317 average with one home run, five doubles and seven RBI.
- Noa Yakir leads the Mustangs with eight doubles.
- Krystyna Allman has the best ERA on the team at 3.43 in 18 appearances and six starts. She has a 2-5 record and has tallied 16 strikeouts in 51.0 innings.
- Steffi Best has made 15 appearances and 12 starts for the Mustangs. She has a 4.74 ERA and 25 K's in 51.2 innings. Best has a 1-12 record in the circle.
SCOUTING CAL BAPTIST
- Cal Baptist has won 5 out of its last six, and seven out of nine coming into the CSUN/Loyola Marymount Tournament. The Lancers are 10-13 on the year.
- Halle Rosario is hitting .419 for Cal Baptist and is tied for the team lead with four home runs and has 15 RBI.
- Brittany Galvez has a .355 batting average with three home runs and seven RBI. She leads the team with six doubles.
- Anise Avalos has four home runs and 13 RBI, while Mackenzie Budinger also has four home runs with 10 RBI.
- The Lancers have a 3.44 team ERA. Kellye Springstead has a 9-6 record with a 2.46 ERA and 66 strikeouts in 85.1 innings.
- Giana Lopez has a 4.25 ERA and a 1-6 record with 21 K's in 24.1 innings. Â Â Â
SCOUTING LOYOLA MARYMOUNT
- The final team the Big Green face this weekend is Loyola Marymount. The Lions come into the tournament with a 14-9 record and have won their last four games, most recently a double header sweep over Boston University.
- LMU plays UC Santa Barbara, Oklahoma, Cal Poly and Illinois before they face Dartmouth on Sunday morning.
- The Lions are hitting .248 as a team and are led by Andrea Gonzalez who is hitting .358 with five doubles, one home run and 11 RBI.
- Riley Ehlen is hitting .316 and leads the team with four home runs and 14 RBI.
- Molly Grumbo has a .286 batting average, has three home runs and five RBI.
- LMU has a strong pitching staff, the Lions' team ERA is 2.15.
- Hannah Bandimere has a 1.58 ERA over 79.2 innings with 49 K's in 17 appearances and 13 starts.
- In 12 appearances and eight starts, Samantha Monti has a 2.94 ERA with 47 strikeouts in 47.2 innings.
