HOUSTON, Texas – The Dartmouth women's tennis team started spring break in Texas with a 6-1 loss to No. 41 Rice at the George R. Brown Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon.
The Big Green dipped to 3-9 overall, while the Owls improved to 8-6.

Allison McCann's match against Victoria Smirnova and Anna Bowtell was ended early when the first point of the day was clinched.
The Owls won matches at No. 4, 1, 2 and 6 singles to take the match, but the Big Green put up a fight by sending three matches to super breaker. Junior
Chuyang Guan came out on top in her match at the No. 5 spot, winning her first set against Diae El Jardi, 6-4, before dropping the second, 7-5. Guan came back stronger to take the super breaker, 1-0 (10-3).
On Wednesday, March 20, Dartmouth will face TCU.
