HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women's rugby head coach
Katie Dowty has announced the hiring of Kelley Sullivan as an assistant coach. Sullivan brings almost a decade of experience to the Big Green program.
"Kelley has experience in so many facets of the game, having already been a player, coach and administrator," Dowty said. "Her in-depth knowledge of the American rugby landscape will be an invaluable addition for us as a growing NCAA program and broader emerging-sport initiative. She has already hit the ground running and added wonderful energy to the team."
Sullivan spent the last two years in Australia, where she taught English as a second language while also serving as head coach of the Bondi Breakers, a U8-9 boys rugby team. She also played with Eastern Suburbs Rugby Club.
Prior to that, she was the USA Rugby training and education manager in Lafayette, Colorado. While in that role, she oversaw the department budget, developed recruitment and retention plans to increase the number of coaches and referees and scheduled course logistics for over 100 educational clinics nationwide per year.
"I'm really excited to join the Dartmouth rugby family," Sullivan said. "I am looking forward to being part of a program that has such a strong reputation both on and off the field."
Sullivan graduated from Marist in 2013 with a degree in communication and media arts. She went on to get her master's in communication with a concentration in leadership and organizational communication from Illinois State in 2015.
