ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Dartmouth Big Green traveled to Missouri this weekend, taking on the Lindenwood Lions. After a brief lightening delay, the game kicked off, seeing the Big Green take an early lead, but the Lions went on to score 12 unanswered points to defeat the Big Green, 12-5.
With the loss, Dartmouth falls to 4-2 on the season and 3-2 in NIRA play.
Defense dominated the game, with the teams combining for only 17 points. In each team's prior games, they both scored over 100 points; Dartmouth earning a 105-0 win over Bowdoin, while the Lions earned a 116-0 win over Queens.
The Big Green opened the scoring in the 13
th minute when
Marley Larkin found the try zone with her team leading tenth try of the season. The conversion was no good though, as Dartmouth took a 5-0 lead.
In the 23
rd minute, Lindenwood got on the board with its first try of the game. The Lions' conversion was also no good, as the game headed into halftime tied at five.
Lindenwood scored the only points of the second half, tallying a try and successfully making the conversion to take a 12-5 lead, scoring 12 unanswered points to defeat the Big Green.
Dartmouth will be back in action next weekend, welcoming the Brown Bears to Brophy Field. Not only will the game be the final regular season NIRA 15s game, but it will also be Senior Day. The Big Green will honor its six seniors with a pregame ceremony.
