HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth women's rugby team heads to Princeton, New Jersey, on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 11 a.m. for a National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) matchup with the Tigers at Rickerson Field at Haaga House.
Last Time Out
The Big Green topped American International College, 57-19, at Brophy Field on Saturday, Oct. 3, to improve to 2-2 on the season. Marley Larkin scored four tries, and Annie Henrich accounted for 22 points on two tries and six conversions. Vanessa Ortiz-Pallen scored a pair of tries, and Jordynn LeBeau added one. Larkin's four-try performance moved her to the top of the team's scoring list, ahead of Lauren Cheng, who had led the team with three. Dartmouth won its third straight meeting with AIC and is 4-0 against the Yellow Jackets in Hanover. The Big Green had fallen at Harvard, 31-7, on Friday, Sept. 25, in a match moved up a day because of a nor'easter. Dartmouth held the defending national champions scoreless for more than 20 minutes, and Ortiz-Pallen scored as time expired in the first half to make it 17-7. Dartmouth opened the year with a 41-8 win over Army on Saturday, Sept. 5 before falling to Life University, 49-22, on Saturday, Sept. 12.

The Big Green went 5-3 last season, including a 4-2 record in NIRA play. Dartmouth advanced to the NIRA semifinals, where it fell to the eventual national champion Harvard, 45-10, at Mignone Field.
Winning Tradition
Katie Dowty is in her 12th season as head coach. The Big Green has won three NIRA championships (2022, 2021, 2018) during her tenure and has reached the NIRA championship final six times, the most of any team. Dowty's record is 76-24.
Series History
Dartmouth is 3-0 all-time against the Tigers since they became a varsity program in 2022. It earned a 93-0 victory in Hanover on Sept. 14, 2024. Dartmouth's 115-7 win at Princeton on Nov. 4, 2023, is the largest margin in the series. In 2022, Dartmouth overcame the Tigers 95-10.
Scouting Princeton
Princeton, located in Princeton, N.J., is led by first-year head coach Karameli Fa'ae'e, who was named to the post in May after serving as an assistant coach at Brown and with the USA U-23 team. The Tigers opened 4-0, their best start since becoming a varsity program, with a win at La Salle and back-to-back 91-0 home wins over LIU and West Chester. Princeton also defeated Frostburg State on Saturday, Sept. 26, 94-0.
