PRINCETON, N.J. – The Dartmouth women's rugby team defeated Princeton, 55-14, on Saturday, Oct. 10, at Rickerson Field at Haaga House, scoring nine tries.
Lauren Cheng and Peyton Langworthy each scored two tries, while Olivia Lyman, Nakato Myers, Amelia Handysides, Lucy Walker, and Morgan Whelan each added one. Annie Henrich converted four of her six attempts, and Whelan converted one of her three.
The Big Green took control early. Lyman opened the scoring at 7:50, and Henrich's conversion made it 7-0. Cheng added a try at 16:20 to stretch the lead to 12-0, and Myers followed at 22:48 for a 19-0 advantage.
Langworthy crossed the line at 33:35 to make it 24-0. Handysides then scored at 37:25, and Henrich's conversion put Dartmouth ahead, 31-0.
Princeton got on the board to make it 31-7, but the Big Green answered in the second half. Walker scored at 48:00 for a 36-7 lead, and Langworthy added her second try to push the margin to 41-7.
Whelan scored at 65:06, and Henrich's conversion made it 48-7. After Princeton added another score, Cheng finished the day with her second try at 70:00. Whelan converted to set the final margin at 55-14.
