NEWPORT, R.I. – Dartmouth sailing raced to fifth place on Saturday in the quarterfinal of the LaserPerformance Team Race National Championship. The top eight teams out of the field of 16 advanced to the semifinal and the Big Green did enough to move on.

Dartmouth finished in fifth by winning 11 out of 15 races. Their victories were over Bowdoin, Hobart, the College of Charleston, Jacksonville, Michigan, Fordham, Stanford, Texas A&M, UC Santa Barbara, Washington and Wisconsin. The only teams to defeat the Big Green were Boston College, Georgetown Navy and Yale.
Joining Dartmouth in the semifinal are Yale, Georgetown, the College of Charleston, Hobart, Stanford, Boston College and Bowdoin.
The semifinal of the Team Race Championship is on Sunday and the top four teams will advance to the final on Monday.
