HANOVER, N.H. – It was announced by USA Rugby on Monday that Dartmouth women's rugby freshman
Emily Henrich has received the MA Sorensen Award.
Given annually to the top women's college player in the country, the MA Sorensen Award is sponsored by the Washington Athletic Club in Seattle and has been presented each of the last three years. The award is named for MaryAnn Sorensen, a trailblazing prop for William & Mary and then for the USA. She was a huge part of the USA's 1991 Women's Rugby World Cup win, and has continued to excel as a player, coach and doctor.
The Big Green rookie is the first Dartmouth player to receive the award.

She had a career-high 27 points in the 98-7 win over Brown (Sept. 15) following three tries and six good kicks. She scored the last try in the 19-14 win against Harvard in the NIRA National Championship game. She was also named to the Women's National Team roster ahead of the November Internationals 2018.
The other finalists for the Sorensen Award were: McKenzie Hawkins (Lindenwood), AnnaKaren Pedraza (Lindenwood), Megan Rom (Life) and
Kat Ramage (Dartmouth).
