HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth women's rugby team opens its 2026 season on Saturday, Sept. 5, at Brophy Field against Army.

Looking Ahead
Dartmouth has a deep senior class up front and, in the backline, including forwards AdiLeilah Bulabalavu, Katie Hansen, Maura Hough, Vanessa Ortiz-Pallen, and Cindy Taulava, alongside senior backs Paola Arredondo Almeida, Jordis Lomu, and Hehea Pulotu. A strong junior-sophomore core adds depth and versatility, with players like Katija Crawford, Annie Henrich, Sierra Santiago, and Vasiti Turagavou in the backline mix, and Camryn Cook, Jordynn LeBeau, Olivia Lyman, Morgan Whelan, and Sadie Williams up front. The incoming first-year class brings international pedigree, featuring Amelia Handysides (Canada) and Sereana Matebalavu (England), plus domestic recruits including Halaevalu Paea, Peyton Langworthy, Nolah Flynn, Nakato Myers, Lucy Walker, and Amaya Tolman.

Recapping 2025
The Big Green went 5-3 last season, and 4-2 in National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) play. Dartmouth advanced to the NIRA semifinals, where it fell to the eventual national champion Harvard.

Winning Tradition
Katie Dowty enters her 12th season as head coach. The Big Green has won three NIRA championships (2022, 2021, 2018) during her tenure and has made it to the NIRA championship final six times, the most of any team. Dowty's record is 74-22, for a winning percentage of 77.08%.

Last Time They Met
Dartmouth took down Army, 49-5, on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024, at Brophy Field. Catelyn Walker recorded a hat trick, Kyla Widodo scored twice, and Paola Arredondo Almeida, Allie Amerson, and Annie Henrich each scored once in the Big Green's victory.

All-Time Series Against Army
The Big Green leads the all-time series against Army, the Black Knights, 8-3. Dartmouth has won five consecutive matches against the Black Knights in a series that began in 2016.

Scouting Army
The Black Knights, in their second season under Jenn Salomon-Clayton, the Penny Anderson Women's Rugby Head Coach, went 6-3 in 2025 and 5-2 in NIRA play. Army advanced to the NIRA semifinals, where it fell to Lindenwood, 29-22.
