LAST TIME OUT
- Dartmouth picked up its first win of 2019 with a 1-0 result over UMass on Tuesday. The Minutemen had not allowed a goal in their first three games of the season.
- Dawson McCartney nailed home a header off an assist from Zach Kalk in the 21st minute to put the Big Green ahead.

SCOUTING MICHIGAN STATE
- The Spartans started the season as the No. 7 team in the country and were picked to finish fourth in the loaded Big Ten preseason poll.
- Seniors Giuseppe Barone, Patrick Nielson and Michael Pimlott were named to the conference's preseason honor list.
- It has been a slow start for Michigan State, who are 0-2-2 on the season, with ties against Southern Illinois Edwardsville (0-0) and Florida Gulf Coast (1-1). The two losses are to Washington (1-0) and most recently Cornell (2-1 OT).
- Scoring has been tough to come by as Alex Shterenberg and Alaa Algahim each have one goal, while Mutatu Farai has one assist.
- Dartmouth is looking to become the second straight Ivy League team to take down the Spartans.
AGAINST THE SPARTANS
- Dartmouth and Michigan State have only played twice before.
- In the first-ever meeting in 2005, the teams played to a 2-2 tie at the Yale Classic in New Haven, Conn.
- The second meeting was in East Lansing where the Spartans came away with a 1-0 victory. DeJuan Jones scored in the 37th minute with assists from Michael Pimlott and Connor Corrigan. Henry Stusnick and Christopher Palacios split time in goal in the contest.
