PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Dartmouth women's tennis won five matches on day two of the Brown Invitational on Saturday.
The duo of
Allison McCann and
Nina Paripovic came away with a win in doubles by defeating Rhode Island's Tiara Higuchi and Mihaela Cordeanu, 6-3.
Chuyang Guan and
Jingyi Peng fell to Janja Kovacevic and Martina Bocchi of UMass, 6-1. In the third doubles match of the day,
Catherine Cable and
Nicole Conard fought hard, but came up short to Ashley Avery and Shiran Arol Wiegan of UMass, 6-4.
Dartmouth won four of six singles matches. Conard took down Wiegan, 6-1, 6-1, while Cable won her match against Avery, 6-3, 6-0.
Paripovic won her singles match in three sets against Cordeanu, 6-0, 4-6, 7-5. McCann battled back after losing the first set and won in three against Higuchi, 3-6, 6-2, 6-0.
Guan fell to Kovacevic in singles, 6-3, 6-2, while Peng dropped her match to Bocchi, 6-3, 6-3.
The Big Green finish the Brown invitational on Sunday.
