THIS WEEKEND
Having played nowhere but at home since Dec. 13, the Dartmouth women's hockey team will finally be on the road again this weekend, heading to New York to face ECAC Hockey opponents Cornell and Colgate.
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green dropped games to No. 7 Princeton (7-0) and Quinnipiac (5-1) at Thompson Arena last weekend.
- Against the Tigers on Friday, Kayla Wormsbecher got her second start of the season and had two saves and allowed a pair of goals before making way for Hannah Humphreys at 9:34. The rookie played the remaining 50 minutes and made 20 saves.
- Princeton had a 29-19 shot advantage.
- The following day, a four-goal second period lifted the Bobcats to victory.
- CC Bowlby scored Dartmouth's lone tally in the first period, netting her team-leading seventh goal of the season. Bailee Brekke and Lotti Odnoga had a point apiece by assisting.
- In net, Humphreys played the first 36 minutes and made 14 saves before making way for Wormsbecher, who stopped 10.
SCOUTING THE BIG RED
Even though Cornell is the only undefeated team in the conference, it is sitting in third place, a point behind first-place Harvard and Princeton with 19 points. Last weekend on the road, the Big Red tied Union (1-1) and blanked Rensselaer (2-0).
Jaime Bourbonnais is first in assists (20) and points (23), while Kristin O'Neil has a team-leading 11 goals.
LAST TIME AGAINST CORNELL
The Green were not able to score against the Big Red last season, falling by a score of 4-0 on the road on Oct. 27 and 3-0 at home on Jan. 18.
SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
Colgate will be playing at home for the first time since Nov. 26. Since then, the Raiders have gone 2-3-1 on the road. They had a good conference weekend, defeating RPI (4-1) and Union (4-0).
Danielle Serdachny is first on the team in assists (15) and points (22), and Sammy Smigliani leads in goals (9).
LAST TIME AGAINST COLGATE
The Big Green had a tough time against the Raiders in 2018-19, dropping the first game of the season by a score of 6-0 before being defeated at home, 5-1.
BETWEEN THE PIPES
Both Humphreys and Wormsbecher saw playing time over the weekend. Humphreys played 87 minutes and made 34 saves while allowing nine. Wormsbecher played 32 minutes and made 12 saves while allowing three.
In 16 games, Humphreys has stopped 370 shots while allowing 45 goals for an .892 save percentage and 2.87 goals against average. Wormsbecher has appeared in three games, has made 27 saves and allowed four goals for an .871 save percentage and 2.59 goals against average.
LEADING THE WAY
Tied for team-lead in points are Bowlby (7-6-13) and
Gabby Billing (5-8-13). Bowlby is first in power-play tallies (2) and shorthanded goals (1) and is one of five players to have scored a game winner.
