ITHACA, N.Y. – The Dartmouth men's tennis team concluded the ECAC Indoor Championship in fourth place following a 4-1 loss to Princeton at the Reis Tennis Center on Sunday.
Â
"This was a tough match for us today," head coach
Xander Centenari said. "The guys battled hard, but Princeton was a little tougher. We relied a bit on our depth and a bunch of our guys stepped up to the occasion. We just have to bet on ourselves more often as the match starts to get close. There is a lot to learn from and apply in our preparation for the rest of the season."
Â
The Tigers started doubles off with a 6-1 win at the No. 1 position and a 6-4 victory on court three to take a 1-0 lead into singles. No. 51
Peter Conklin and
Casey Ross were leading in their match when the first point was clinched.
Â
Dominik Pauli got Dartmouth (9-2) on the board with his 6-1, 6-1 win at the No. 6 singles position to make it a 1-1 match, but Princeton (7-3) victories on courts four, two and one ended the match.
Â
The Big Green will have almost two weeks away from the court, returning on Leap Day with a match at Indiana.
