HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women's lacrosse senior and team captain
Katie Bourque has been named the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week the conference office announced Monday.
Â
The Ridgewood, New Jersey, native had a career day in the Big Green's 16-8 win against Boston University Saturday afternoon at Scully-Fahey Field in the 2020 home opener.
Â
Bourque scored a career-high five goals in the win to go along with a career-high seven points. She was not only instrumental in generating the offense around the net, she was usually the player starting the possession for the Green and White as she recorded seven draw controls in the game.
Â
Additionally, on the defensive side of the field, Bourque added two ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Â
Saturday marked Bourque's 50th career game in a Dartmouth uniform and is rapidly approaching several milestone marks. With 99 career draw controls, she is just one back of moving into a tie for 10th all-time at Dartmouth with Kristen Barry '08.
Â
Her 82 career goals, 33 assists and 115 points at this point in the season also have Bourque well within reach to move into the top-20 in program history in each.
Â
This is Bourque's second weekly accolade from the league office but her first on the offensive end of the field. She was named the Defensive Player of the Week on April 22, 2019.
Â
Penn's Chelsea Kibler was named the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week. Â
Â
Bourque and her teammates will open Ivy League play this Saturday at Brown with opening draw set for 1 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
