MID-WEEK TILT
The Big Green women's basketball team is staying semi-local this week, traveling to Worcester for a Tuesday game at Holy Cross.
Â
LAST TIME OUT
Dartmouth dropped its first road game of the season to New Hampshire on Saturday, 58-46.
·    Â
Mia Curtis had another double-digit performance, ending up with 10 by going 5-for-12 at the line.
·     In the first game of her senior season,
Katie Douglas led the team by going 3-for-5 in 3-pointers, also going 3-for-7 in field goals and ending the game with nine points.
·     The first quarter was very even; one team scored, the other responded. Treys by
Allie Harland and
Mekkena Boyd and a jumper by Curtis had the visitors trailing by five to head to the second (15-10).
·     The Bobcats had a 17-10 advantage to end the first half, but the third quarter was dead on, with both teams scoring 14 points.
·     While initially being kept off the board in the fourth, shots by Curtis,
Isabella DiGiovanni and
Rosie Jennings got the Green back within 12 before the end of the game.
Â
SCOUTING HOLY CROSS
The Crusaders also head into Tuesday's game with a record of 0-2. They fell to Northeastern, 71-45, in the first game, while seeing a similar outcome to the one against Boston College over the weekend, 75-50.
Â
LAST TIME VS. THE CRUSADERS
Although they used to meet on a yearly basis since the early 2000s, Dartmouth and Holy Cross haven't played each other since Dec. 20, 2017, a game the Big Green won in overtime, 76-74.
Â
After Cy Lippold '19 tied things up with 30 seconds remaining in regulation, it stayed close in overtime. After opening OT with a 4-0 jump, Holy Cross scored back-to-back buckets to take a 74-73 lead with 1:04 to play. A good free throw by Paula Lenart '20 with 26 seconds remaining tied the game up again before Lippold was fouled on a steal and sent to the line with five ticks to go. Draining both of her free throws, the guard brought home the win for the Big Green after a 45-minute battle.
Â
AROUND THE LEAGUE
With every team at least one game into the 2021-22 season, there are four teams that remain undefeated: Columbia (3-0), Princeton (3-0), Yale (2-0) and Penn (1-0).
