SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Dartmouth men's outdoor track & field team began their weekend at the IC4A Championship held at American International's John G. Hoyt '52 Track & Field Complex on Friday afternoon.

The day kicked off with freshman
Derek Elsholz taking 13th in the javelin. His third and final attempt generated a throw of 53.73m.

In the hammer throw, sophomore
Myles Schreck was the Big Green's top performer. His best throw came on his third-of-six attempts, measuring 56.51m, a mark that was good enough for sixth.

Drew Palermo (54.00m) and
Michael Gabriel (53.94m) were 12th and 13th, respectively, in the event. Palermo's best throw came on his second attempt, while Gabriel's came on his first try.

The Big Green men will continue with a heavier workload on Saturday as six student-athletes will take to the track in four events. Sunday will see four more events featuring a Dartmouth competitor.
