SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Senior
Timothy Zepf won the 800m title Saturday afternoon at the IC4A Championship held at American International's John G. Hoyt '52 Track & Field Complex.
Zepf ran a 1:48.83 to take the event crown and the 10 points in the team standings that came along with it.
Sophomore
Myles Epstein will move on to Sunday's final in the 100m as he qualified fourth with a 10.61 in the preliminaries. Running in one of the fastest heats of the day, Epstein took second and earned an automatic berth into the final.
Will Daley and
Eric Gibson were as tight as two can be in the 1500m, separated by just a hundredth of a second. Daly was eighth in 3:47.94, while Gibson's 3:47.95 placed him ninth.
In the final race of the day produced another strong showing for the Green and White as Dartmouth's
Owen Ritz and
Benjamin Matejka claimed third and fourth, respectively, in the 10,000m. The teammates hung together throughout the race and were rewarded for their strong performances with a pair of top-five finishes. Ritz led the way in 29:40.95, while Matejka was the nest runner to cross the finish line, doing so in 29:47.07.
The meet concludes on Sunday with four events featuring Dartmouth men, including Epstein in the final of the 100m in addition to his slated inclusion in the 200m.
