HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women's tennis completed its 2-0 weekend with a 5-2 defeat of UMass at home on Sunday afternoon.
Dartmouth (3-1) vs. UMass (0-2)
The Minutewomen had a 6-3 win at the No. 1 doubles to start the day, and with another 6-3 victory by
Lexi Dewire and
Chloe Yoo at the No. 3 spot, the first point of the day rested on court two. The match between
Chidimma Okpara and
Ashley Hess with UMass' Anna Napadiy and Renata Farima was a close one, but it was the Big Green duo that had a 7-6(2) win to clinch the doubles point.
In singles, the visitors soon tied things up with a win at the No. 2 position before Dartmouth ran away with it. Victories on courts 3, 5, 1 and 4 by Hess,
Elizabeth Fahrmeier, Okpara and
Lexi Dewire suddenly made it a 5-1 match. UMass added one more win at the No. 6 position before the day was done.
The Big Green will play their last of six straight home matches this weekend when they face Boston College at 6 p.m. on Friday and Charlotte at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
