CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The Dartmouth women's track and field team opened the 2022 portion of their schedule at the Harvard Multi & Beantown Challenge on Saturday at the Gordon Indoor Track.
The Big Green finished in third with 97.5 points. UConn took first with 167 points followed by Harvard with 100.5 points. Rounding things out were UMass Lowell (75), Brown (63.5), UMass Amherst (39.5), and Stonehill (1).
"We are grateful to have had student-athletes and coaches on the bus to compete. This time last year, we were in our homes, anxiously awaiting opportunities to practice and compete. With all hands-on deck our athletics trainers, coaches, and athletes were fantastic," said Marjorie & Herbert Chase '30 Director of Dartmouth Track & Field and Cross Country
Porscha Dobson. "All adapted quickly and assisted each other in navigating new national college and athletic protocols. I applaud our team for helping make our return to competition happen."
"With personal bests and another school record, we had strong performances in the horizontal jumps and throws," Dobson continued. "On the track, our distance and mid-distance athletes brought more depth with an impressive transition from the cross country course to the track. We look forward to training through next weekend in preparation for a full competition schedule."
