BURLINGTON, Vt. — The Dartmouth men's soccer team fell behind in the first half and could not recover, dropping a 3-0 decision to No. 10 Vermont. The Big Green fell to the Catamounts on the road in their final non-conference match of the season.
The Big Green were unable to match the offensive output of the Catamounts throughout the match. Vermont finished the evening with a 17-6 advantage on Dartmouth in shots. Keepers

Dylan Buchanan were challenged with 10 shots on goal, making a combined seven saves.
Neither team was able to establish a hold of the match through the first 15 minutes, as defense ruled the back-and-forth battle. The ball remained far from either keeper, as sound defensive play stymied any offensive attack.
The first shot of the evening sailed high and wide of Christodoulou's net off the foot of Vermont's Mujtaba Mirhasan in the 16th minute. Another offensive chance for the Catamounts came moments later, but the Big Green defended the first corner kick of the match with ease.
George Altirs registered Dartmouth's first shot of the night just outside the 18-yard box, but his chance was blocked by Vermont.
Vermont was awarded a penalty kick in the 27th minute following a foul inside the 18-yard box committed by Christodoulou. Noah Egan made the most of the penalty, beating Christodoulou on the right side to give the Catamounts a 1-0 lead.
Christodoulou came up large a minute later with a save on a glorious chance to keep the deficit at one. The sophomore made another strong stop off a corner kick opportunity moments later.
Freshman
Oskar Magnusson tested Nathan Silveira for the first time with a shot on goal in the 31st minute. In the 37th minute, Garrett Lillie headed a ball into the back of the net to increase Vermont's lead to two.
Dartmouth earned a corner kick with just over a minute remaining in the half, but
Ben Jenkins header attempt went just wide. At the end of the first half, Vermont led by two, outshooting the Big Green 8-3.
The second half began with physical play through the first 13 minutes as a pair of yellow cards were distributed, one for each team.
Kristian Feed recorded a pair of shots on goal between the 55th and 59th minutes, both of which were handled by Silveira.
Vermont extended its lead on the Big Green on a set piece goal scored by Alex Nagy. The Catamounts came close to another goal, but the chance hit the post to keep the Big Green's deficit at three.
Buchanan entered the contest in the 70th minute and immediately made an impact with a save on a chance for the Catamounts.
The match ended, as the Catamounts improved to 12-1-1 on the season. Dartmouth falls to 4-5-3 on the year and now leads the all-time series against Vermont 26-15-6.
The Big Green return to Burnham Field for an Ivy League match against Columbia on Saturday, October 22. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the match will be streamed on ESPN+ and Stretch Internet internationally.
