LAKE PLACID, N.Y. — Eli Kimche recorded his second consecutive top-three finish at the Columbia Autumn Invitational in Lake Placid, N.Y. following a strong third round on Sunday. The Big Green tied for third place in a field of 10 teams at Lake Placid Golf Club and finished an event under par for the first time since 2019.
The Big Green moved up one spot in the field following a strong third round. Dartmouth and Cornell concluded the event shooting 1-under 851. Host team Columbia took first with scores of 265-288-289 (-10), and was one stroke ahead of second place finisher, Sacred Heart.

Kimche started well, shooting even on the front nine. The sophomore dominated on the final nine holes, recording six birdies to close out his round at 5-under par. He finished the weekend as one of two golfers who shot under par on par 3's.
The performance by the native of Park City, Utah, on Sunday capped off a career-best event, as Kimche finished 9-under par (67-71-66-204). He trailed only Columbia's Nathan Han (-13) and event champion Marcus Lim of Sacred Heart (-14).
Alex Gu also shot below par on Sunday, recording a score of 70 (-1) to finish tied for 14th in the field. Gu recorded four birdies on the back nine to improve upon his performance from yesterday.
Aaron Zhang finished his weekend with scores of 73-69-73-215 (+2) and tied for 11th following the final round. The freshmen shot 7-under par on Par 5 holes, tied for second-best in the event and recorded two eagles over the weekend.
Senior captain
Mark Turner tied for 18th, posting scores of 69-73-75-217 (+4). Freshman
Cameron Keith finished the event 10-over par and tied for 37th.
Charles Petrie improved significantly on his performance on Saturday. The senior trimmed three strokes off his best round from the previous day, shooting 3-over par in the final round. He concluded his weekend tied for 48th in the field.
The Big Green head to Sonoma, California for their final event of the fall, the Alister MacKenzie Invitational. The event, hosted by Cal at the Sonoma Golf Club, is set to take place on Monday, Oct. 10 and Tuesday, Oct. 11.
