SATURDAY'S MATCH
The Big Green are back on the road after two straight home matches to take on Mount St. Mary's in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
LAST TIME OUT
Dartmouth didn't find the try zone until about midway through the first half of the Army West Point match, but once the floodgates opened, the Big Green showed they're still likely the team to beat in the NIRA with a 24-15 win over the then-unbeaten Black Knights.
Anjali Pant opened the scoring with back-to-back tries before
Simone Bautista's last-minute score to end the first half.
Kristin Bitter's try in the second half was instrumental in holding off a late Army West Point charge.
FIRST CAREER TRIES
Pant and Bautista both scored their first career tries against Army West Point. Pant's first came after a highlight-reel stiff-arm that downed a Black Knight defender on the way to pay dirt.
HISTORIC SCORING
The Big Green throttled Mount St. Mary's 70-0 at Brophy Field last season. It was the sixth time in program history Dartmouth has reached or surpassed 70 points. They did that twice in the 2021 season alone, including a 92-point onslaught against Long Island that went down as one of the highest scoring efforts in program history. The program record for most points in a match stands at 110, which the Big Green poured on Columbia on Sept. 24, 2016.
SCOUTING MOUNT ST. MARY'S
The Mountaineers are off to an 0-3 start and are seeking their first win in more than a calendar year. They opened the season with a 62-7 loss to Army West Point, then fell to Harvard 95-7 and most recently were shutout by Brown 33-0 last weekend. Mount St. Mary's also has a scrimmage against non-NIRA Virginia under its belt. Freshman Kaylen Thomas and graduate student Holly Click have the Mountaineers' only two tries of the season so far.
WHAT'S AHEAD
Following the match against Mount St. Mary's, Dartmouth is on the road once again to battle Harvard Saturday, Oct. 15.
