PRINCETON, N.J. — The Dartmouth women's swimming and diving team kicked off the 2022-23 season at Princeton, competing against the Tigers, along with Brown.
The Big Green fell to Princeton by a score of 231-58 and were bested by Brown, 230-57. Despite a pair of losses, Dartmouth demonstrated improvement from its 2021-22 season with personal bests, along with an event victory over Princeton.
"We have a small roster and the women didn't let that stand in the way of them getting after competing," said
Milana Socha after her first meet as head coach. "Our upperclassmen set the tone with great energy and positivity and the first years matched it, driving it home with good season opening performances in the pool and on the boards."
HIGHLIGHTS
- Christina Cianciolo's time of 5:12.58 in the 500 free was better than any from an in-season meet last year.
- Julianne Jones bested all Princeton athletes in the 400 yard IM with a time of 4:28.26.
- Alyssa Palacios placed fifth in the one-meter dive with a score of 241.65. Chiara Lopach and Alexa Kalish followed at 237.35 and 227.60 respectively. Palacios also placed fifth in the three-meter dive (242.50).
- Lindsey Drumm placed fourth, and second against Princeton in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:05.52.
The Big Green return to Karl Michael and Spaulding Pools to compete against Harvard and Cornell on Saturday, Nov. 12.
