SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Dartmouth women's tennis had a 7-0 loss to San Diego in its first of four matches out on the West Coast on Saturday. The Big Green are now 5-5 while the Aztecs improved to 10-3.
After the home team started things off with a win at No. 3 doubles,
Chidimma Okpara and
Ashley Hess went on to win at the No. 2 spot, 6-4. Play on court one was close, but USD won by a score of 7-5 to take a 1-0 advantage into singles.
Aztec victories at the No. 5, 2, 4, 1 and 3 clinched the win for the team that has only dropped three matches to tough teams such as Vanderbilt, UC Santa Barbara and No. 32 Arizona State. At the No. 6 position,
Emily Zhou won the second set, 7-6, but dropped the superbreaker, 10-5.
Dartmouth will face UC San Diego on Sunday at 3 p.m. (EST).
