THIS WEEKEND
- The Dartmouth men's hockey team travels to RPI for the ECAC Hockey Championship First Round this weekend.
- The best-of-three series will be played at the Houston Field House with Games 1 and 2 set for 7 p.m. puck drops on Friday and Saturday. If the teams are tied, a Game 3 would be at 4 p.m. on Sunday.
RECENT HISTORY IN THE POSTSEASON
- The Big Green will be looking to win their first postseason series since the 2018-19 season when they defeated St. Lawrence in the first round of the ECAC Hockey Championship.
- Dartmouth last squared off with RPI in the postseason back in the 2013-14 season. The Big Green made the trip to Troy, N.Y. and defeated the Engineers in the best-of three series. RPI won Game 1 before Dartmouth took the next two to advance to the quarterfinals.
LOOKING BACK TO LAST WEEKEND
- Dartmouth fell to RPI, 6-3, on Friday evening and to Union, 3-2 in overtime, on Saturday evening to close out the regular season.
- Jack Cameron, Steven Townley, and Mark Gallant each scored against RPI while Braiden Dorfman picked up two assists.
- Dorfman scored on Saturday while Townley had his second straight game with a goal. Tanner Palocsik dished out two assists over the weekend to bring his team-leading total to 13.
- Clay Stevenson had 68 saves over the course of the two games.
THE BIG GREEN STATS
- Gallant leads the team in scoring with 10 goals. Sean Chisholm is second with eight goals, Dorfman is right behind with seven, while Jeff Losurdo and Matt Hubbarde each have five.
- Palocsik leads in assists with 13. Chisholm has 11, Dorfman has nine, and Harrison Markell and Joey Musa each have eight.
- Chisholm's 19 points are the most on the team followed by Palocsik's 17.
- Clay Stevenson has played in 20 games for the Big Green this season. He has made 620 saves, third-highest in ECAC Hockey, and has a save percentage of .924, the third-highest in ECAC Hockey and 12th in the NCAA.
SCOUTING RPI
- RPI enters the weekend with a 15-20-3 record.
- Ture Linden leads the Engineers in goals with 17. Justin Addamo has 11 while Ottoville Leppanen and Zach Dubinsky each have eight.
- Simon Kjellberg has 17 assists while Jakub Lacka and Leppanen have 16 apiece.
- Linden's 32 points are tied for the second highest in ECAC Hockey. Leppanen has 24.
- Linden Marshall has played in 26 games for the Engineers, making 535 saves while allowing 63 goals for a save percentage of .895.
ALL-TIME AGAINST THE ENGINEERS
- Dartmouth is 42-50-6 all-time against RPI.
- The Big Green are 18-26-4 on the road against the Engineers.
- The last time these two teams played each other at Houston Field House was back on Jan. 31, 2020, with RPI taking the win, 7-1.
