HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women's tennis had a 4-3 defeat of No. 43 Columbia to win its first Ivy League match of 2022 at home on Sunday.

Katie Weber and
Elizabeth Fahrmeier started the afternoon with a 6-4 victory at the top spot in doubles before the Lions' Jennifer Kerr and Shivani Amineni added a 7-5 win of their own at the No. 3 position. Play on court two was very close, with
Ashley Hess and
Chidimma Okpara picking up the 7-6(4) victory.
Emily Zhou added another point with her 6-3, 6-1 win at the No. 5 singles, but Columbia victories on courts three and two suddenly made for a tied match. Okpara had a huge 7-5, 7-6(4) win at the No. 1 position before the Lions' Michelle Xu won two tiebreakers on court six.
Tied at 3-3, it all came down to Fahrmeier and Julia Haynes at the No. 4 position. Fahrmeier won the first set, 7-6(3), while Haynes took the second by a score of 6-3. The third set went to the Big Green rookie, 7-5, giving the home team the win.
Next weekend, Dartmouth will be on the road to take on Penn and Princeton.
