WORCESTER, MASSACHUSETTS — After two years with very little competition and time on the water, the lightweight rowing team improved all season long, culminating in a trip to the Eastern Sprints for the first time since 2019. Ranked seventh going into the competition, three boats made the trip to Massachusetts.
All three boats competed in the petite final with
Maia Crichlow coxing the third varsity to a second-place finish (6:50.151) behind Princeton (6:28.688). The second varsity finished third in 6:28.819 as did the varsity eight.
Head coach
Dan Roock was disappointed in the results but is looking for improvement. "A disappointing day for the lightweight crews, but the reality is that we are not yet back to the level of competition in the lightweight league. The rowers raced hard but could not keep pace with our opponents."
Next up for the Big Green is the IRA Championships at Lake Mercer in Princeton, N.J. on June 3-5.
