Dartmouth Earns Perfect Score in Athletic Equality Index

Dartmouth Athletics is recognized for its commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusion
HANOVER, N.H. — Dartmouth was one of 15 institutions nationwide to receive a perfect score in the Athletic Equality Index (AEI), as announced by Athlete Ally.
Launched in 2017, the AEI is an ongoing assessment of NCAA athletic departments' policies and practices around LGBTQ+ inclusion. It evaluates how Division I institutions are supporting their fans, staff, coaches and student-athletes while seeking to set and maintain a high standard of LGBTQ+ inclusive policies and practices in collegiate athletes, along with providing valuable feedback and resources to athletic departments. The organization's mission is to work within the intersection of sport and LGBTQ+ equality to end the homophobia and transphobia that occurs within athletics.
Three Ivy League institutions received perfect scores of 100 as the Ancient Eight produced the highest mark across all Division I conferences. Dartmouth was one of 12 schools nationally to achieve a perfect score in 2021 and is now among the eight who have earned the honor in back-to-back years.
