HANOVER, N.H. — The Big Green men's golf team concluded its second weekend of competition following the second round of the Dartmouth Invitational on Sunday. Dartmouth's two teams finished third and fourth in a field of nine teams at Montcalm golf Club in Enfield, N.H.
Both of Dartmouth's teams made significant improvements on their scores from a day ago. The Big Green's "B" team claimed third (301-292-593), just one stroke behind the second-place club, Seton Hall. Their third-place finish is the highest for the program at a home tournament since 2015.
The "A" team trimmed 13 strokes off its day one score and closed out the weekend ranked fourth (305-292-597). Siena College took home first place honors, finishing the weekend at 5-over par.

Rich Parker said. "I am happy for some of our kids who got to play in their first college event.
Aaron Zhang played very well and is only going to get better, and
Eli Kimche is gaining confidence with every round. I'm proud of all of our guys for representing the college in such a positive way."
Kimche ended his weekend with a score of 70-71-141 (-3), just one stroke behind the first-place finisher, J.T. Spina. The sophomore picked up where he left off yesterday, shooting 1-under par to close out his best-career performance for the Big Green.
Zhang, a freshman from Lake Mary, Fl., concluded his first collegiate event tied for ninth in a field of 60 golfers. He improved upon his performance in the opening round, as he finished the day with a score of 71(+1) and ends the weekend at 75-71-146 (+2).
Mark Turner and
Alex Gu both tied for 11th, going 4-over par (148) at Montcalm. Gu shot 3-under par on Sunday, which was tied for the best score of any player in round two. Turner claimed his second top-25 finish of the season at the Dartmouth Invitational.
Senior captain
Charles Petrie shaved five strokes off his round one score on Sunday, finishing the second round with an even 72.
Eli Thrasher finished the weekend tied for 13th with Petrie, with the teammates ending their weekend at 5-over par (149).
Freshmen
Cameron Keith and
Fin Szafnauer closed out the first tournament of their collegiate careers tied for 22nd with overall scores of 155 (+11).
Justin Lee and
Charlie Baker ended their weekends ranked 39th and 48th, respectively.
The men's golf team is back in action next weekend in Lake Placid, N.Y. to take part in the Autumn Invite, hosted by Columbia. The event is slated to take place on Saturday, Oct. 1 and Sunday, Oct. 2.
