Dewire and Hess Victorious in Opening Round of ITA Super Regionals

The duo defeated a pairing from Fordham and will face opponents from Syracuse on Sunday

WEST POINT, N.Y. — Representing the Big Green in the ITA Super Regionals at Army West Point, senior co-captain Lexi Dewire and sophomore Brooke Hess defeated Fordham's Xiaowei Hu and Anlin Xie in the opening round of doubles action on Saturday. The Big Green duo dropped the first set, but won the second and then finished the job with a super tiebreak victory.

Dewire and Hess are now set to square off with Syracuse's Viktoriya Kanapatskaya and Shiori Ito in Sunday's quarterfinals. A pair of Ivy League foes make up the adjacent quarterfinal matchup with pairings from Brown and Princeton battling for the right to face the winner of Dewire's and Hess' upcoming match.

Dewire and Hess punched their tickets to the ITA Super Regionals with three straight wins at regionals.
