FULL ECAC HOCKEY WEEKEND
The Dartmouth men's hockey team is back at Thompson Arena for a pair of ECAC Hockey matchups against No. 8 Quinnipiac and Princeton. The Big Green take on the nationally ranked Bobcats at 5 p.m. on Friday evening before playing the Tigers at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
LOOKING BACK TO LAST WEEKEND
The Big Green opened the 2023-24 season last weekend with matchups against No. 17 Harvard and Granite State rival UNH. Dartmouth skated to a 1-1 tie against the Crimson, picking up its first point of the year.
Braiden Dorfman tallied the goal for the Big Green midway through the third period with
Luke Haymes and
Joey Musa claiming the assists.
Cooper Black made 25 saves while Dartmouth combined to block 20 shots, led by
Matt Fusco's four. The two teams then played an 18-round shootout, with Harvard picking up the extra point.
The Big Green then made the trip to Durham on Saturday for their first away game of the year, taking on UNH. The Wildcats took the win by a score of 3-1.
John Fusco scored Dartmouth's lone goal of the game, coming off a power play early in the third period.
LONGEST IN NCAA HISTORY
Friday's 18-round shootout against Harvard is the longest shootout in NCAA history. Black and Harvard goaltender Derek Mullahy were exceptional in the shootout as they both stopped the first 17 attempts for each team.

SCOUTING QUINNIPIAC
Quinnipiac enters Friday's game with a 4-3-0 overall record. This will be the first conference game of the season for the Bobcats. They are ranked No. 8 in the latest USCHO national poll and are coming off a split weekend against Maine.
Sam Lipkin, Mason Marcellus and Travis Treloar each have a team-high four goals. Jacob Quillan leads the team in assists with six while Davis Pennington, Cristophe Tellier and Zach Tupker all have four.
The Bobcats have utilized two goaltenders thus far in Vinny Duplessis and Matej Marinov. They have combined to make 163 saves and have allowed 14 goals.
The Big Green are 10-27-3 all-time against the Bobcats. The two teams played each other three times during the 2022-23 season, playing a non-conference game at the Friendship Four in Belfast before they played the two conference games.
SCOUTING PRINCETON
This will be the first weekend of games for Princeton as it opens the season on Friday at No. 19 Harvard.
The Tigers are coming off a 13-19 season with an 8-14 conference record. They had two ranked wins last season, both in non-conference play. The Tigers defeated No. 20 RIT (5-0) and No. 12 Providence (3-2 OT). They earned a 6-4 win over Union in the first round of the ECAC Hockey tournament before losing the best-of-three series to Harvard in the quarterfinals.
Princeton returns its top scorer from 2022-23 in Ian Murphy, who finished with 15 goals and 15 assists for 30 points. Brendan Gorman, who finished with 20 points, also returns for the Tigers having scored five goals along with 15 assists last year.
The Big Green are 108-92-17 all-time against the Tigers with a 51-35-9 record at home. Princeton swept Dartmouth in 2022-23 with a 4-2 win at Hobey Baker Rink followed by a 7-3 victory at Thompson Arena. The Big Green swept the Tigers in the 2021-22 season, claiming 7-3 and 2-0 wins.

WHAT'S AHEAD
Dartmouth begins a seven-game road stretch next weekend with ECAC Hockey matchups against Cornell and Colgate. The Big Green take on the Big Red on Friday evening at 7 p.m. at Lynah Rink before heading to Hamilton to play Colgate at 7 p.m. on Saturday at the Class of 1965 Arena. Both games will be available to stream nationally on ESPN+ and internationally on Stretch Internet.
