HAMDEN, Conn. – No. 9 Quinnipiac scored a late power play goal to defeat the Dartmouth women's hockey team, 3-2, in ECAC Hockey action on Friday evening at the M&T Bank Arena in Hamden, Connecticut. The Big Green tied the game after falling behind on two occasions, but the late goal from the Bobcats proved to be the difference.
Dartmouth moves to 2-4-1 overall and 1-4-1 in ECAC Hockey while Quinnipiac improves to 9-2-0 overall and 3-2-0 in league play.
With the score at 2-2 going into the final moments of regulation and overtime on the horizon, Kendall Cooper scored a power play goal to put Quinnipiac by a goal.
The game was tied after
Kenzie Bachelor scored the equalizer with less than a minute remaining in the second period.
Laura Fuoco picked up the assist on Bachelor's first goal of the season.
Quinnipiac opened the scoring midway through the first period when Mia Lopata scored her first goal of the year. Sadie Peart scored a power play goal midway through the second period.
Jenna Donohue tallied a power play goal, her fifth goal of the season, early in the second period to tie the game at 1-1. Bachelor ripped a shot from the blue line that Donohue redirected, providing just enough movement on the puck to send it past Quinnipiac goaltender Logan Anders.
Eleanor Rogers made 33 saves in net for the Big Green, including 16 in the first period.
Dartmouth is back in action tomorrow afternoon for an ECAC Hockey and Ivy League contest at No. 15 Princeton. Puck drop is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Hobey Baker Rink and the game will be available to stream on ESPN+ and Stretch Internet.
