ETNA, N.H. — Two weekends after its big win over Sweet Briar, which bumped the Big Green to No. 2 in the NCEA Single Discipline Poll, the Dartmouth equestrian team followed it up with a 5-2 win over Bridgewater on Sunday at Morton Farm. Senior
Rachel Freer, and first years
Cassidy Exner and
Samantha Takacs, each won their head-to-head matchups on the flat — 86-76, 84-77, and 81-74, respectfully, while Exner and senior
Abby Niles also picked up victories over fences.
"Our seniors really showed up today," said coach
Tenley Walsh. "Rachel had a great week leading up to the meet, and her hard work paid off with a huge ten-point win today. And Abby and Margot continue to show so much composure, no matter their matchups."Â Â
Â
Along with Dartmouth's wins on the flat, senior
Margot Luria entered the ring against the meet's high score of 89, before turning in an 89 of her own. Â
Â
During the jumping-seat portion of the show, Exner and Niles clinched the victory for the Big Green, winning 68-67 and 84-76. Â
Â
For the third consecutive show, a Dartmouth rider earned Most Outstanding Performer over fences, as Niles took home the honor. Freer became the first Dartmouth rider this season to earn the distinction on the flat. Â
Â
The Big Green will wrap up their fall schedule next Sunday when they host Sacred Heart at Morton Farm, which is set to begin at 11 a.m.Â
