LA JOLLA, Calif. — The Dartmouth women's tennis team is back in the win column entering Ivy League play after cruising to a 6-1 victory over Arkansas Tech on Wednesday afternoon at La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club.
Brooke Hess and
Katie Weber sealed the doubles point on Court 2 for the Big Green and later on, it was a two-set triumph from
Ujvala Jupalli at the No. 4 position that clinched the match in favor of Dartmouth.
Senior co-captain
Emily Zhou stayed hot, picking up her seventh straight doubles victory alongside
Lexi Dewire, and adding a singles win to improve her team-best record, which now stands at 7-3.
Okpara's two-set win on the top court came in dominant fashion, setting the tone for the rest of the lineup to eventually clinch the win in the final match of the California road trip. More straight-set victories followed, including Jupalli's clincher and
Ashley Hess, now a winner of back-to-back matches at the No. 2 position having defeated her San Francisco opponent on Sunday.
The Ivy League slate begins on Saturday, April 1 when the Big Green battle Harvard on the road at 2 p.m.
