AIKEN, S.C. — The Dartmouth men's golf team closed out its time at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate Tuesday afternoon. The Big Green finished their first event of the spring slate with a consistent day at the Palmetto Golf Cub.
Mark Turner, Dartmouth's co-captain, continued his steady improvement on the final day of the tournament, as he finished the third round at 4-over par. This score shows a five-stroke improvement over his first round of the event. He climbed six positions from his day-one finish as he claimed 60
th with scores of 79-75-74-228.
The Big Green's other co-captain,
Charles Petrie, finished just one stroke behind Turner, tying for 61st in field of 75 golfers. Petrie's performance at the intercollegiate displayed his consistency, closing out the event with scores of 77-76-76-229.
Eli Kimche finished the Cleveland Golf Palmetto tied for 64
th, shooting 9-over par in the final round. Dartmouth's freshman participants,
Cameron Keith and
Aaron Zhang, gained valuable experience in Aiken, South Carolina.
South Carolina finished the event atop the leaderboard, finishing with a team score of 2-under par. The Gamecocks were the only squad to shoot under par throughout the two-day tournament. Furman claimed second at 8-over par, with Wisconsin finishing just one stroke behind the Paladins to take third.
Dartmouth is back in action from March 20-21 in Greenville, North Carolina. The Big Green will take part in the ECU Intercollegiate event at the Brook Valley Country Club.
