HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth women's tennis team battled a tough Brown lineup down the stretch with several tight singles matches, but ultimately suffered a 4-1 loss on Friday afternoon at Alexis Boss Tennis Center.
Two singles matches went three sets and two more were headed to a third when Brown's victory was clinched. The doubles point proved to be key, which the Bears were able to claim after taking the first two decisions.
Brooke Hess tallied the Big Green's lone point with a two-set win at No. 6 singles.
Chidimma Okpara won the opening set on Court 1, but eventually was on the wrong side of a lengthy three-setter.
Ashley Hess saw a similar fate after bouncing back to win the second set of her match on Court 2.
Emily Zhou and
Ujvala Jupalli were both locked in back-and-forth tilts and would have played third sets if not for Brown's clinch.
Dartmouth travels to Yale on Sunday, April 9 to face the Bulldogs at 1 p.m.
