PRINCETON, N.J. — The Dartmouth men's golf team showed marked improvement during the first day of the Princeton Invitational. The Big Green shaved eight strokes off their score from the first round to close the day at the Springdale Golf Course.

Aaron Zhang,
Cameron Keith and
Eli Thrasher represented the Big Green in the competition on Saturday, while
Alex Gu competed as an individual. Dartmouth closed the day tied for 12
th with St. Joseph's in a field of 14 teams.
Turner continued his strong spring season, as the senior co-captain shot 2-under par on the day. He finished the day tied for 13
th in a field of 78 golfers. After shooting 1-over par in the first round, he shaved four strokes off his game to close the day with scores of 72-68-140.
As an individual, Gu joined Turner in the top-25. The junior was consistent throughout the day, finishing the first two rounds with scores of 71-71-142 and recorded 24 pars and six birdies on Saturday.
Kimche showed the most dramatic improvement from the first to second rounds. After shooting 6-over 77 on the first 18, the sophomore recorded five birdies en route to a second-round score of 2-under par. Zhang finished his day one stroke behind Kimche, recording scores of 73-74-147.
Keith closed the day tied for 54
th in the field, closing the day 6-over par, while Thrasher tied for 70
th with scores of 76-75-151.
Harvard closed the day atop the field, shooting 13-under par on the first 36 holes. Princeton followed in second at 7-under 561, while Seton Hall shot 4-under par to claim third after the first day of the event.
