PRINCETON, N.J. — The Dartmouth men's golf team closed its time at the Springdale Golf Course on the final day of competition at the Princeton Invitational. The Big Green continued to show improvement from their earlier rounds of the event, climbing two spots on the leaderboards and finishing the day tied for the fifth-best round of the day.
Mark Turner closed out a stellar weekend in New Jersey, finishing the event tied for fourth place in a field of 78 golfers. The senior shot 4-under par on his final 18 holes of the event, climbing nine positions and closing his weekend with scores of 72-68-67. Turner recorded seven birdies on Sunday and registered the second-best score of any golfer on Sunday.
Alex Gu finished his weekend as an individual competitor in the top-25 after another consistent round. The junior finished his weekend with scores of 71-71-71-213 and was one of seven golfers to shoot even on the weekend.
Eli Kimche secured a 34
th-place finish, shooting an even 71 on the final 18 holes of the weekend. He climbed 12 spots on the leaderboards with his performance on Sunday, closing the event with scores of 77-69-71-217.
Cameron Keith also shot even on Sunday and overtook 12 golfers to tie for 42
nd-place.
Eli Thrasher and
Aaron Zhang rounded out the Big Green's field of competitors, tying for 70
th.
Dartmouth closed out the tournament tin 10
th place, just one stroke behind Howard and Georgetown. The Ivy League was well represented in the top three, as Harvard maintained its first-place position, closing the weekend shooting 15-under par. Yale followed closely behind with scores of 286-280-275-841, and host-team Princeton took third place.
The Big Green are back in action next weekend for the ROAR-EE Invitational, hosted by Columbia. The one-day event is set to take place in Kingston, New York at the Wiltwyck Golf Club.
