Julia Fenerty Sets New Ivy Meet 800m Record, Big Green also Win 4x800m Relay

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Julia Fenerty of the Dartmouth women's track and field team set a new Ivy League Championships meet record in the 800m race, finishing with a time of 2:03.81, claiming the gold medal in the event on Sunday at Penn's Franklin Field.
The group of Anya Hirschfeld, Bella Pietrasiewicz, Annie Jackson, and Fenerty claimed the gold medal in the 4x800m relay with a time of 8:39.15. This gave Dartmouth the Heps sweep for the 4x800m relay after the same group of four won the event during the indoor championships.
The group of Joy Enaohwo, Michelle Quinn, Jada Jones and Bridget McNally placed fourth in the 4x100m relay with a season-best time of 45.77 seconds.
Hirschfeld finished the 1500m race with a time of 4:20.83, taking fifth in the event to earn a spot on the podium.
Jones sprinted to a PR of 54.57 seconds in the 400m dash, claiming fifth in the event.
Corinne Robitaille ran a personal best time of 16:27.01 in the 5000m race, good for fourth in the event. Emma Kerimo also ran for a new PR, finishing with a time of 16:55.89.
Gabriela Fasanelli finished sixth in heptathlon with a total of 4428 points while Mia Balestra recorded a personal best 3656 points.
Harvard claimed the team title with 193 points. Princeton took second with 160 points, followed by Penn (118 points) and Dartmouth (55 points) to round out the top half.
Dartmouth looks to carry the momentum into the New England Championships next weekend. Competition is scheduled for Friday and Saturday at Northeastern University.

Fenerty broke the record that was established by Morgan Uceny of Cornell back in 2006. Fenerty's time is also now the best in program history, and currently 14th in the NCAA Division I East Region.A NEW IVY MEET RECORD!!!!!
