HANOVER, N.H. — With July almost here and the season opener quickly approaching, Dartmouth head field hockey coach
Mark Egner has announced the Big Green's 2023 schedule. The season begins on Sunday, Sept. 3 vs. Stonehill, the start of three straight home games to begin the year. Eight home games and eight road contests are on the schedule, with the top four teams in the league standings advancing to the first-ever Ivy League field hockey tournament.
Following the first-ever meeting with Stonehill, Dartmouth returns home the following weekend to host Quinnipiac on Friday (Sept. 8) and Merrimack on Sunday (Sept. 10). That precedes the Ivy League opener on Friday, Sept. 15 at Harvard.
The rest of September features home games vs. Vermont on Monday, Sept. 18 and Brown on Saturday, Sept. 30, with a trip to upstate New York sandwiched in between. The Big Green play their second Ivy League game at Cornell on Friday, Sept. 22 before a Sunday date at Colgate.
October begins with a home showdown vs. in-state rival New Hampshire on Sunday, Oct. 1 before hitting the road for the next two weekends. The Big Green first travel to Philadelphia to face Penn and La Salle on Oct. 7 and 8, respectively, then travel to Connecticut to face Yale and Sacred Heart on the 13th and 15th.
The regular season wraps up with Dartmouth hosting defending Ivy League Champion Princeton on Saturday, Oct. 21 then hitting the road to UMass the following day for the first meeting between the Big Green and Minutewomen since 2019.Â
The regular season finale is set for Saturday, Oct. 28 against Columbia, with the Ivy League Tournament slated for the following weekend.
