HEADING DOWN TO JERSEY
Dartmouth opens Ivy League competition this Saturday, Sept. 23 against Princeton. The Big Green look to make a step toward the inaugural Ivy League tournament with a road win over the Tigers.
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green last took the field on Tuesday, Sept. 19 against the Merrimack Warriors. Despite taking a first-half lead, a pair of Merrimack goals in the second half saw Dartmouth fall at home for the first time in 2023.
Freshman
Trenton Blake scored the first goal of his collegiate career against the Warriors. His goal, which was assisted by
Kristian Feed and Sebastian Manon, gave the Big Green a 1-0 lead in the first half.
Junior goalkeeper
Costi Christodoulou made four saves for the Big Green.
LOOKING FOR A ROAD WIN
Dartmouth looks to secure its first road win since Sept. 2, 2022 in last year's season opener against Niagara. A late goal from
Garrett Scott lifted the Big Green to a 1-0 win, while Christodoulou made eight saves in the victory.
The Big Green hold a 0-2-1 record on the road this season. Dartmouth fell in its first two games of the season in California to Saint Mary's and Cal. The Big Green battled to a hard-fought 1-1 draw against UMass and look to secure its first road win this weekend against the Tigers.
FRESHMEN LEADING THE CHARGE
The Big Green have been led offensively by a core of young student-athletes through the first six games of the 2023 season. Freshmen
Vasilis Moiras and Douglas Arveskär lead the Big Green with five points, as both have recorded a pair of goals and an assist. Fellow freshman
Trenton Blake is tied for third on the team in points with a goal and an assist.
SCOUTING PRINCETON
Princeton hosts Dartmouth with a 2-2 record through four games. The Tigers look to build off the momentum they gained against St. John's in a 3-2 home win earlier this week. Princeton holds a 2-1 record at Roberts Field, which includes wins over Rutgers and St. John's.
Daniel Ittycheria found the back of the net twice for Princeton against St. John's, while Nico Nee recorded a pair of assists. Ittycheria and Nee lead the Tigers in points through four games, as both have registered six points.
The Tigers host Dartmouth for the first time since 2018 and hold a commanding 23-7-7 lead against the Big Green at home in the all-time series.
Last season, Princeton knocked off Dartmouth in Hanover by a score of 1-0. The Tigers hold a 40-24-9 record against Dartmouth in a storied series.
