COLLEGE STATION, Texas — The Dartmouth equestrian team traveled to the Lonestar State on Saturday and dropped a 10-0 final at Texas A&M. The Big Green were close in a number of head-to-head matchups, which included senior
Rachel Freer falling 76-73 on the flat and 79-73 over fences.
The Big Green are ranked No. 3 in the single-discipline national poll, with the Aggies standing at No. 2 in dual-discipline.
"Going on the road to play a very strong team was a welcomed challenge for us," said head coach
Tenley Walsh. "We would have liked to see a different final score, but there are a lot of positives we can take from this."
A number of close matchups saw senior
Margot Luria fall 80-76 riding Sparky. Over fences, first-year
Cassidy Exner nearly won, but fell 83-80 riding Max. Senior
Abby Niles lost 87-81 riding Splendid.
Dartmouth returns to action on Friday, Feb. 16 at Auburn before facing UT Martin the following day.
