HANOVER, N.H.—The Dartmouth field hockey team fell 3-0 at Chase Field to Ivy League foe Penn on Friday afternoon.
Penn opened the scoring at the 8:36 mark of the first quarter to take an early 1-0 lead.
Neither team scored the remainder of opening quarter as shots were 3-1 in favor of Penn. Isabel Andrews made one save in the opening frame.
The second quarter saw just three shots, Penn fired all three shots but none of them found the goal. Penn drew the lone penalty corner of the frame.
Just under 13 minutes into the third quarter the Quakers doubled their lead.
Andrews made a pair of saves early in the third quarter while Olivia Galiotos tallied the lone Dartmouth shot in the frame. The Big Green earned the lone penalty corner in the quarter.
With less than seven minutes remaining in regulation, Penn scored its third goal of the game off a penalty corner.
Andrews finished the game with two saves while Ava Carlson played just over 14 minutes and made one save.
Galiotos, Lucia Campaño, and Ruby Walsh each tallied a shot on goal in the game.
There were a combined four penalty corners which is a season low for a Dartmouth game this season.
The Big Green return to Chase Field on Sunday, Oct. 13 as Colgate visits Hanover. Dartmouth will celebrate its senior class throughout the day as it is Senior Day. The game is slated to start at Noon against the Raiders.
