HANOVER N.H. – The Dartmouth College volleyball team fell in a hard fought match to the undefeated in league Yale Bulldogs on Saturday night, 3-1 from Leede Arena.
SET BREAKDOWN:

The Big Green fall to 9-8 (2-5 Ivy League) and Yale improves to 12-3 (7-0 Ivy League).Â

HOW IT HAPPENED:
SET ONE:
- The opening set was evenly matched with six ties until Dartmouth went on a 4-0 run, taking a 13-10 lead and forcing a Yale timeout.
- Yale called a second time out after an 8-3 run put the Big Green ahead 22-15. The run included two aces from Ellie Mattox and one from Karen Murphy.
- Faced with set point, the Bulldogs were able to score two but a kill from Piper Stevens ended the set for the Big Green, 25-17.
SET TWO:
- Yale scored first and held a steady lead the majority of the set. Three straight scores from the Bulldogs led to a Big Green timeout, 20-14 Yale.
- The Bulldogs charged on and took the set 25-18.
SET THREE:
- The Bulldogs outscored the Big Green 6-1 to begin the set.
- Yale stayed in command and jumped to a 19-9 lead. Two aces and a kill from Kaunay Gutz shorted the lead to 19-12 and prompted a Yale timeout.
- Out of the timeout, Gutz added another ace and two kills and gave them a 6-0 run to bring the score to 19-15.
- Yale persisted and took the set 25-18.
SET FOUR:
- Yale again started on a 6-1 run to take the early lead. Kills by Raeli Smith and Maddie LaFata and two Yale errors brought the score to 8-7.
- Another Bulldog run allowed them to pull away to 15-9.
- The Big Green had their turn with a 6-1 run, once again closing the Yale lead to one, 19-18.
- The Bulldogs were able to hold on and win the set, 25-19.
