Dartmouth trailed by as many as 13 early in the fourth quarter before pulling even

HANOVER, N.H. — Trailing by as many as 13 early in the fourth quarter, the Dartmouth women's basketball team came all the way back to tie the score, but UAlbany responded to beat the Big Green, 58-53 on Wednesday night inside Leede Arena.
Dartmouth's record falls to 1-1. The strong effort came against a Great Danes' team who finished last season 25-7 with an appearance in the WNIT.

The Big Green remain home on Saturday when they host UMass Lowell at 1 p.m.
FIRST QUARTER:
UAlbany opened a 7-2 lead, with all seven of its points scored by reigning America East Player of the Week Kayla Cooper.
The Great Danes' lead reached as much as seven (11-4) before Dartmouth ended the quarter on an 8-1 run.
Meyer scored four straight points, followed by a Page second-chance layup and Austin layup, which evened the score at 12 after 10 minutes of play.
SECOND QUARTER:
The Great Danes held a 14-7 edge in the second quarter, holding the Big Green scoreless for the first 6:51 of the stanza.
A Page jumper pulled Dartmouth within 17-14. A few minutes later, a Page jumper got the Big Green within 23-19 with 1:17 on the clock.
A Jessica Tomasetti 3-pointer in the final seconds gave UAlbany a 26-19 halftime lead.
THIRD QUARTER:
A back-and-forth third quarter saw UAlbany's lead remain between five and seven until 4:07 on the clock.
Muhammad's second 3-pointer of the game pulled the Big Green within 40-32, but UAlbany again got a field goal in the final seconds to take a 42-32 lead into the fourth.
FOURTH QUARTER:
The Big Green wouldn't quit. Trailing by as much as 13 early in the quarter, they began to chip away.
Dartmouth used a 10-0 run to turn a 51-41 deficit into a 51-51 deadlock. The run began with a Nina Minicozzi 3-pointer, followed by a Meyer jumper than five straight points from Muhammad.
The teams were also tied at 53 after a Page layup, but UAlbany scored the final five points of the game for the 58-53 final.
