PHILADELPHIA — Rebounding from Friday's loss to Penn, the fifth-seeded Dartmouth men's tennis team rolled to a 4-0 win over eighth-seeded Temple to snap a two-match skid on Saturday morning as part of the second day of action in the ECAC Championship.
Three singles victories, including the clincher from
Carlos Guerrero Alvarez at the No. 1 position, allowed the Big Green to seal the win. Three matches were in third sets when Guerrero Alvarez completed his three-set triumph over Temple's Dante Russo.
Alex Knox-Jones gave Dartmouth a 2-0 lead with a quick two-set win at No. 6 and
Miles Groom, wrapping up a three-setter, was next to finish.
Clutch singles performances came after a well-earned doubles point, which included wins from Guerrero Alvarez and
Hikaru Takeda (No. 2) and Groom and
Waleed Qadir (No. 3).
The ECAC Championship will wrap up on Sunday, Feb. 18 with the Big Green's opponent still to be determined.
