BOSTON, Mass. — The Dartmouth men's track and field team closed out a busy weekend with Boston University's Scarlet and White Invite, highlighted by
James Lawrence winning the 5000m run. Lawrence won the event with a time of 14:13.97. The group of
Adrien Jacobs,
J'Voughnn Blake,
Bryce Thomas and
Mason Childers finished fourth in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:13.28, setting a new program record.
DJ Matusz claimed second in the 1000m run with a time of 2:23.53, good for fifth in the Ivy League this season.
Matusz also finished seventh in the 800m race with a time of 1:49.75.
J'Voughnn Blake was right behind Matusz in the 800m race, taking eighth with a time of 1:49.77. Matusz and Blake now sit fourth and fifth on the Ivy League performance list.
Childers nabbed 12
th in the 500m run after finishing with a time of 1:05.25.
Thomas took 17
th in the 400m dash with a time of 49.33.
Liam Murray also ran in the 400m dash, finishing in 32
nd with a time of 49.91.
Sam Starrs claimed fourth in the pole vault after clearing 4.70m, good for eighth in the Ivy League this season.
Roy Leibovitz took eighth in the long jump with a mark of 6.84m.
Albert Velikonja finished 12
th in the 3000m race with a PR of 8:04.74.
David Walker took seventh in the weight throw after throwing it a distance of 16.69m, a new personal best.
Dartmouth returns to action next weekend with two meets on Saturday, Feb. 10. The team will split up into two groups to compete at Boston University's David Hemery Valentine Invitational and the Dartmouth Home Meet. Links to follow along for both meets can be found on the team's schedule page.
