BOSTON, Mass. — Bella Pietrasiewicz broke the program record for the 1000m race on Friday as the Dartmouth women's track and field team opened the weekend competition at Boston University's David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
Pietrasiewicz finished with a time of 2:44.03 to earn fourth in the event, breaking the previous record of 2:45.52.
Julia Pye also ran in the 1000m race, finishing with a personal best time of 2:56.35.
Jada Jones finished sixth in the 200m race, a race with 224 competitors, with a personal best time of 24.30.
Mariella Schweitzer took 29
th in the event with a time of 25.14.
Caroline Livingston claimed seventh in the unseeded portion of the 3000m run with a personal best time of 9:50.38.
Esme Huh also competed in the event, finishing with a time of 10:13.24.
Annie Jackson placed 64
th in the 800m race, in a field of 304 participants, with a time of 2:10.22.
Emily Levonas and
Natalie Shapiro both ran personal bests in the 3000m run, finishing with times of 9:29.91 and 9:31.81.
Madeleine Locher competed in the 5000m race at the Eagle Elite meet at The Track at New Balance, taking second in the event with a personal best time of 15:51.06, good for second in program history.
