PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Big Green finished their season on a high, defeating Tufts 6-3 and collecting their first win at the College Squash Association Collegiate Team Championships.
The match win was highlighted by a win in five games at the first position by Maria Clara Ramírez. In the match that lasted just over an hour, Ramírez and her opponent went back and forth, trading individual game victories. Ramírez was able to come out on top, keeping momentum in her favor to win two straight, the fourth and fifth games, for the match victory.
Emily Schuster was the other member of the Big Green to pick up a win in five games at the sixth position. Schuster took the first two games before dropping the third and fourth game. She righted the ship though, holding her opponent to only two points in the fifth game for the victory.
Priya Verma was the only Big Green winner today to collect the sweep. She held her opponent to two points in the first game, before winning the second game in extra points and sealing the win with an 11-9 victory.
Ellie Clifford at the second position,
Chelsea Cho at the third position, and
Callie Worth all picked up 3-1 victories for the Big Green.
With the win, the Dartmouth women seal the eleventh position in the final standings for the Howe Cup.
